The only downside I could find is that the charging cable could be longer for more versatile placement options when charging is needed. So this is a very entertaining trash can. I say that because my dogs and cats were completely enthralled by the opening and closing as they put their noses over the touchless light. I looked all through the instructions but didn’t find a link or address or any way to obtain trash bag refills. This thing is cool! It’s the perfect size for a bathroom or office trash can. I don’t know why it took me so long to finally try an automatic trash can but it’s really made a huge difference with my daily routine. So, I inherited 11 cats. Yep. 11. Half of them have digestive issues so they’re on a wet canned food diet. I don’t know if you’ve ever dealt with canned cat food but the smell is somewhat repulsive to me, especially in summer after sitting in a hot trashcan all week waiting on trash day. My yard started to smell pretty bad.. gag inducing bad..which is why I decided to try this trashcan.. and I’m so glad I did! It was easy to figure out with the instructions. There are 2 buttons, 1 for power and 1 for the functions. There’s the auto function which uses the motion sensor to open and close the lid, and there’s a manual function where you can hold to seal the bag, vacuum suction the replacement bag, or open and close the lid yourself with the touch of a button (handy to have for when you need the lid to stay open for more than 5 seconds). It takes a type c charger which is included. Per manual, just make sure the power is on when you charge it. The motion sensor works perfect with no issues as long as you have the correct setting on. It does a great job at sealing the odors in the bag. I would say 90% of the smell is gone since using this, whoo hoo!
This automatic trash can is very cool. The sensor is fairly sensitive, so it will open for motion very close to the lid. This did frighten our cat at one point when she was investigating it. I like the hands free option for trash. I will say the sound it makes when the lid is closing is a bit loud so if you are wanting a silent operation, this is not that. I would purchase this item again.
All in all, I find that this is an extremely well built automatic trash can. The technology was a success. My daughter said she “digs” it. So I’m glad that she is happy with her new trash can.
